Judgement of Paris:
I mean, if someone would trade me things of my interest for something I own. I would definitely trade it for something better.
In this case however, it’s the title of being the fairest and being able to have the most beautiful woman as your wife. I can see why Paris choose Aphrodite to trade the apple with. Yeah! Having power is neat but at some point you would lose that power, the other is having a strong military force. Paris doesn’t need a strong military force, since he is part of a royal family with a strong military presence. So there is no need to have a strong military.
But, having the most beautiful woman as your wife, and being able to live your life in happiness. Is something that a man could ever dream of?
Egyptian Creation
When Atum noticed that he was alone in the swirling chaos. He decided that he wanted company so he vomited out Shu his son and spitted out his daughter Tefnut.
The only thing that bugs me is that, the way Atum gave birth to his two children is really disturbing. Imagine you being spitted or vomited into existence, I would think that you would never want to be born that way. Just imaging it is already making me sick.
Iliad:
In book 1 of Iliad, 9 years into the Trojan War. Agamemnon makes the dumbest decision in his life by pissing of Achilles, he did it by stealing the daughter of the priest of Apollo as a prisoner. And her father came to take her back by offering Agamemnon untold riches. But he refused, and the priest prayed to Apollo for help and well let’s just say that I didn’t end well for Agamemnon.
Well, I mean there gods and especially that you messed with people that are followers to these gods. So yeah, moral of the story don’t mess with people or deities in this matter that are more powerful than you.
Odyssey:
In the journey to go back to Ithaca, Odysseus had ended up in the land of the Cyclopes after leaving the land of the lotus eaters. Filled with delicious sheep and a nice cave they could stay. Unfortunately the cave is home to a Cyclops by the name of Polyphemus, who seal the cave, kills some of the crew, and falls asleep. After some time Odysseus was able to intoxicate the Cyclops and passes out, then Odysseus and his crew stabs his eye. While he was injured the rest of his crew trapped inside made their escape.
Odysseus being proud of himself taunts the Cyclops, but there’s one problem all Cyclops are children of Poseidon. When he heard what Odysseus and his crew did, he made sure that their trip would be as miserable as possible.
So yeah, just like the Iliad never mess with people or deities that are more power than you. Cause it won’t be the best thing that you could ever done.
